ABOUT THIS VIDEO (Updated May 26 2011):

For much more information about SL Dressage, visit the site of the SL Dressage Society.

The Flower Dressage Video shows you several patterns that include pretty much any possible transition between circles and lines.

The actual command shown appears in the upper-left corner of each segment of the video.

Specific things to look for are shown at the bottom of the screen.  The following conventions are used:

  "Big" means the large circles: A, C, E, G
  "Sml" means the small circles: B, D, F, H.
"Center" means the circle in the very center of the Flower field.
"x" between letters means switching from clockwise to counterclockwise, or vice versa.
Note that the first circle walked must always be done clockwise.

"Halfway rule" refers to the rule that Pony must always go at least halfway around any circle.  If the pattern takes Pony less than halfway, Pony must go all the way around the circle first, and then complete the pattern.

PATTERNS:
AxC    Big circle clockwise to small circlecounterclockwise
AxH    Big circle clockwise with halfway rule; to small circle counterclockwise
C-E    Big circle clockwise, thru small circle on straight line (hyphen), to big circle clockwise.

D-H    Small circle clockwise, line to center circle and clockwise around it, then to small circle clockwise.  NOTE: this pattern had a rule change after this video was made.  You'll see the ponies walk through the center circle, which was the old way.  Ponies now ALWAYS walk CLOCKWISE AROUND the center circle.)

CxDxE    Big circle clockwise to small circle counterclockwise (halfway rule) to big circle clockwise.
B-C    Small circle clockwise to big circle clockwise; requires going around the center circle to change direction for C.
DxCxB    Small circle clockwise, to big circle counterclockwise, to small circle clockwise.

And a special demonstration of a two-pony pattern!
Biatch walks CxExF-B as her sister Taka walks GxAxB-F.  (Note how the ponies walk clockwise AROUND the center circle as described above.)

THANK YOU to twin-sister ponies Biatch Adamczyk and Takahashi Kira for appearing in our video!!
